Dr. Lawrence Fleinhardt is Charlie's trusted friend and colleague at CalSci University. Larry is an astrophysicist who sees the world through complex cosmological metaphors, much the way Charlie views the world as math. He does not own a home, as he prefers to not be bogged down by an address. Larry is awkward in social situations, and he also has an unusual taste for bathtubs, saying that if he gets near one, he can't stay out of it. He urges Charlie to focus more on his work at the school rather than his work at the FBI. He began dating Megan at the end of the second season, and their relationship is one of the strangest and most sound of the entire series. Larry went on a mission to the International Space Station during the third season that lasted six months. When he came back, he was more introverted and spend quite some time at a monastery. He also become more reflective. These changes were quite obvious and strayed from Larry's typical eccentric but centered behavior.
