Colby Granger grew up in Idaho. He was stationed with the Army in Afghanistan and did a tour of duty with their Criminal Investigative Division before joining the Bureau. He was outed as a double agent at the end of the third season, then revealed to be a triple agent at the beginning of the fourth. It appeared as though he was giving the Chinese false intel in order to discover the identity of a mole within the FBI. It took most of the season for Colby to regain the team's total trust. He does not strive for romantic pursuits, although it did appear as though he connected with a park ranger in the third season episode "Pandora's Box".
