CHARACTER BACKSTORY

Charles Edward Eppes, son of Alan Eppes and brother to Don Eppes, lives in Los Angeles. He is a professor of Applied Mathematics at CalSci.
By the time he was three years old, Charlie could multiply four digit numbers in his head. He graduated high school at age 13, on the same day as his older brother Don. Charlie's genius status is a sore spot between them; Don feels underappreciated and Charlie feels that he and Don could have had a better relationship. Charlie attended Stanford, Princeton, MIT, and CalSci.
Charlie is dating his colleague Amita. It is awkward for both, because he has trouble with looking at the world outside of a mathematical perspective. When this gets to be too much of a problem, he turns to his good friend and colleague Larry Fleinhardt.
